On the analytic description of twoneutrino transitions of solar neutrinos in the sun
Abstract
The specific features and the conditions of validity of simple analytic expressions for the average survival probability of solar electronneutrinos in the sun, P_{solar}(ν_{e}>ν_{e}), derived for the case of twoneutrino transitions in the linear and exponentia density approximations, are discussed. The accuracy with which these expressions reproduce the probability P_{solar}(ν_{e}>ν_{e}), found by solving numerically the corresponding system of twoneutrino evolution equations using the standard solar model prediction for the electron number density distribution in the sun, is determined. A complete and simple analytic description of the solar electron neutrino transitions in the sun is found.
