a New Limit on the Neutrinoless Double Beta Decay of 100-MOLYBDENUM.
Abstract
A search for the neutrinoless double beta decay of ^{100}Mo was conducted using thin Mo films and solid state Si detectors. The experiment has collected 3500 hours of data, operating underground in a deep silver mine (3290 M.W.E.). Only one event was found to be consistent with neutrinoless double beta decay. Using this one event, a limit of >=q1 times 10 ^{22} years (1sigma ) is set on the ^{100} Mo half-life. This is approximately five times larger than the best previous ^{100 }Mo limit.
