Localization and superconductivity in carbon fibers
Abstract
In the experiments reported here, fibers with a superconducting layer of a graphite intercalation compound with Nb were produced by subjecting viscose and pitch fibers to an intercation treatment. It is shown that the conductivity of the fibers in a magnetic field is adequately described by the quantum correction theory for disordered systems in the two-dimensional case. The effect of weak localization of current carriers observed in the superconducting fibers is examined.
