Magnetic ordering in Y2BaCuO5
Abstract
Magnetic ordering at a temperature of 16.5 K was observed in Y2BaCuO5, a nonsuperconducting component of the Y-Ba-Cu-O high-temperature superconductor. Optical diffuse-reflection spectra of powder specimens of (Y/0.99/Er/0.01/)2BaCuO5 were investigated in the 4I15/2-4I13/2, 11/2 range of transitions in the Er(3+) ion.
