Temperature dependence of the critical current in the Tc region of superconductors containing twins
Abstract
Changes in the temperature dependence of the critical current near the critical temperature, Tc, have been observed in niobium single crystals during deformation-induced twinning. These changes are shown to indicate the formation of thin superconducting channels in the twinning region. Data supporting the existence of a similar temperature dependence of the critical current in high-temperature superconductors are discussed.
