On gravitational effects in the field of a cosmic string and a central body
Abstract
The influence of an infinite linear cosmic string directed along the polar axis of the Schwarzschild and Kerr gravitational fields upon the motion of a test body near the equatorial circular orbits is considered. It is shown that the string gives an additional periastron shift of an elliptical orbit with a small eccentricity and leads to a precession of the orbital plane when small deviations from the equatorial plane are allowed.
