Optical and infrared observations of SN 1987A from Cerro Tololo.
Abstract
Results are presented from optical and IR observations of SN 1987A obtained by the Cerro Tololo Inter-American Observatory. Emphasis is given to results from photometry and spectroscopy obtained following maximum light, 100-400 days after core collapse. The calculated bolometric light curve and examples of spectra obtained from optical spectrophotometry and IR spectroscopy are given. Also, consideration is given to emission line profiles, flux measurements, and light echoes.
