Geochemical foundations of the evolution of hydrogen and methane in nature
Abstract
The interrelationship of changes in the quantities of CH4 and H2, the density of planetary matter, and irradiation with distance from the center of the solar system is demonstrated. The spatial extent (up to 30 AU) of solar radiation from the center of the system is determined on the basis of transformation indices of atmospheric methane and hydrogen. Particular attention is given to the transformation of methane into heavier gaseous and liquid hydrocarbons under the effect of radiation, with evolution of H2.
