Features of the modulation of galatic cosmic rays in 1982
Abstract
A correlation has been observed between diurnal variations of galactic cosmic rays (GCR) at R = 331 GV and variations of the magnetic moment of the sun M. A sharp increase in M was observed in 1982, which might have led to variations in the GCR modulation. Changes in M lead to an increase in the magnetic field strength in the heliosphere, leading in turn to an increase in the fluctuation level of the IMF, which in turn is responsible for GCR modulation.
