A Search for Evidence of Nuclearites in Data from Optical Pulse Experiments in Astrophysics
Abstract
Results are presented from optical pulse experiments searching for nuclearites in the Galaxy. Upper limits to the incoming flux are derived from four experiments to detect cosmic gamma-rays which would be sensitive to pulses of light from nuclearites in the lower atmosphere. Two of the experiments searched for gamma-rays in the Crab Nebula and two searched for gamma-ray bursts from primordial black holes. An experiment to search for signals from proton decays caused by magnetic monopoles is discussed. No strong candidates for nuclearite events are found.
