Theoretical solutions of transient radiation from traveling-wave linear antennas
Abstract
It is known that, until now, only a few analytic solutions of transient radiation fields from linear antennas have been obtained for limited situations, for instance, infinitely long antennas and infinitesimal antennas. In this paper, theoretical solutions of transient radiation for linear antennas of finite length are developed. The results have explicit closed expressions from which the transient radiation characteristics could be clearly seen. One can also find that the validity of acquired results is independent of the length of the antenna and of the waveform of traveling-wave currents along the antenna.
