Superconductivity above the temperature of liquid nitrogen
Abstract
The discovery of superconductivity in certain copper oxides above liquid nitrogen temperature and the attendant publicity are put in perspective. The nature of the oxide superconductors is examined. Their fabrication and physical properties are discussed. Present research directions are described.
