Low-frequency emissions and magnetic field in a region of field-aligned currents
Abstract
An analysis of Intercosmos-18 data revealed simultaneous fluctuations of the amplitude of low-frequency noise emissions and the intensity of one or several magnetic-field components in an auroral-latitude region where field-aligned currents are usually observed. It is shown that spatial shifts and expansion of the region in which the fluctuations were observed occurred with geomagnetic-storm development.
