Field-aligned currents generated by plasma formations
Abstract
The paper examines the problem of the motion of a spherical plasma cloud (e.g., a barium ion cloud in an active experiment in the upper atmosphere) in an external uniform magnetic field. Calculations are made of the spatial distribution of electric and magnetic fields as well as field-aligned currents generated as the result of this motion.
