The relationship between the polarization of radiation scattered in the twilight atmosphere and vertical aerosol distribution
Abstract
In a continuation of a study of twilight zenith scatter, it is found that, by the autumn of 1986, the level of radiation which was disrupted by the eruption of El Chichon in 1982 had been practically restored. A thin structure of the polarization profile is derived from observations at two points. A comparison of lidar sounding data and temperature stratification is presented.
