A Multi-Spectral Analysis System Using Large Databases

The Center for Astrophysics and Space Astronomy (CASA) at the University of Colorado is in the process of designing, testing, and implementing a multi-spectral data analysis system that incorporates several large astronomical datasets (in particular IUE, IRAS, and HEAO2). The system provides interactive scientific analysis and intercomparison of multi-mission/multi-spectral data from satellite and groundbased observatories. The design of this system is based upon the experience gained from serving as one of two Regional Data Analysis Facilities for the International Ultraviolet Explorer (IUE-RDAF); and on the experience gained by several local scientists carrying out multi-spectral research programs.
