Renormalised electromagnetic energy density on the horizon of a Kerr black hole
Abstract
Consideration is given to the problem of calculating the renormalized stress energy tensor of matter in thermal equilibrium with a black hole. In this paper, the values obtained by Elster (1984) and by Frolov and Zel'nikov (1985) for the renormalized energy density of the electromagnetic field in the HartleHawking vacuum state on the horizon of a Schwarzschild black hole and on the pole of the event horizon of a Kerr black hole, respectively, are corrected.
