Young, High-Velocity A Stars. I. Rotational Velocities and a Catalog of Early-Type Stars at the South Galactic Pole
Abstract
To further investigate and augment a sample of young, high-velocity A stars previously observed in the Galactic halo, a catalog is presented of all known early-type stars, to 15th magnitude, in 218 deg2 at the South Galactic Pole. The catalog lists 305 stars to spectral type F0. Strömgren photometry, Hδ line widths, radial velocities, and calcium line strengths are tabulated for about 200 stars. Rotational velocities for eight distant A stars are found to be typical for normal young main-sequence stars.
