Theory of sound generation and propagation in nonstationary flow
Abstract
Nonlinear (exact) and linearized systems of equations are proposed for describing sound generation and propagation processes in nonstationary subsonic flow with entropy gradients. A method for isolating the acoustic components of velocity, pressure, and density is presented. A version of the model proposed here is also considered which allows the use of solutions obtained on the basis of the incompressible fluid approximation.
