The observation of the low-frequency component of oscillations in the sun's chromosphere
Abstract
Filtergrams of a quiet chromospheric area near the limb and full-disk filtergrams in the H-alpha + 0.5 A line are used to analyze the brightness oscillations in the H-beta and H-alpha lines. It is shown that low-frequency oscillations with periods of about 28, 40, 70, and 120 min and wavelengths of 70, 250, 350, 530, and 1000 Mm exist in the chromosphere. Depending on the oscillation period, a cyclic displacement of the spectrum amplitude from the center to the boundaries of superconvective cells is noted. The results suggest that the magnetic field plays an important role in the propagation of low-frequency oscillations in the convection zone and in their subsequent dissipation in the chromosphere.
