Scattering of a plane electromagnetic wave by the two discontinuities of impedance plane
Abstract
The backscattering problem caused by two discontinuites of an impedance plane which is assumed to be lossy is considered. The scattered field is analyzed using the WienerHopf method. It is assumed that the incident wave is an Ewave with an electric vector perpendicular to the incident plane (corresponding to the horizontally polarized wave). It is noted that if the angle theta is very small and the distance between the two discontinuities is much smaller than the wavelength, the mutual interference will be observed.
