Relativistically invariant form of the averaged equations of electron motion in the field of two intense electromagnetic waves
Abstract
Averaged equations are obtained which describe the motion of a relativistic electron in the field of two intense collinearly propagating, linearly polarized TEM waves. The equations have a Hamiltonian form and are relativistically invariant. It is noted that these equations can be used to study the motion of particles in freeelectron lasers based on stimulated wave scattering and stimulated undulator emission.
