The n-n(nu-nu) process in the field of a linearly polarized plane wave
Abstract
The generation of neutrino pairs induced by the interaction of the neutron anomalous magnetic moment with a plane wave field is studied by applying the solution of the generalized Dirac equation in the plane wave field. Exact expressions with respect to the field strength are obtained for the probabilities in a linearly polarized wave and in a crossed field. Estimates are made of the feasibility of observing the effect against a background of a 'competing' beta-decay process.
