The discovery of a class of high-temperature superconductors
Abstract
The concepts leading to the discovery of superconductivity in Ba-La-Cu oxide ceramics are discussed, and the importance of these oxide superconductors is indicated. As part of the confirmation process, the susceptibilities of Ba-La-Cu-O samples with various compositions and preparation histories were measured. Consideration is also given to the observation of a superconductive glass state in percolative samples.
