Numerical treatment of NavierStokes equations
Abstract
Numerical algorithms to solve the NavierStokes equations, and the implementation of the algorithms in programming systems for flow simulation are discussed. The fundamentals of the modeling and discretization of the NavierStokes equations are presented. The spatial discretization methods to solve partial differential equations are outlined. The calculation of timedependent and steadystate solutions of the Euler equations is discussed. Methods to solve incompressible flows are introduced. The development of user programming systems for the numerical treatment of flows is reviewed. The pre and postprocessing activities for numerical flow simulation are described.
