Calibration of a five hole probe and testing of an evaluation method for flow field measurements
Abstract
The calibration of a five hole probe, and the testing of an evaluation method to determine the velocity vector in a three-dimensional flow field are described. The evaluation method was developed on a microcomputer for wind tunnel on-line data reduction. The practical tests of the measuring method were performed in leeward vortex flows. The results show that it is possible to determine the velocity vectors in separated vortex flows with a five hole probe and the proposed evaluation method. The computer program for the evaluation of the probe calibration is enclosed.
