Spacecraft data aid in describing Venus's geology
Abstract
Astronomers have studied Venus for several hundred years. Recently it has become the object of intense study by means of spacecraft. Geologico-morphological research holds the key to Venus. Photography of the surface, plains, mountains, and craters are examined. Radar images of Venera-15 and Venera-16, and data from Vega-1 and Vega-2 are being analyzed to further map Venus.
