On sources of complex rays at complex locations: Higher-order beam waves
Abstract
The sources of complex rays at complex locations are discussed. It is shown that non-Gaussian beam waves can also be represented in terms of these sources. However, such a representation is not unique, because the same field which is valid in the Fresnel diffraction region is represented in term of different sources which are located on a complex plane. Several examples are given and an application to the problem of diffraction is also shown.
