Diffraction of electromagnetic waves by a very rough interface
Abstract
Vector integral Green formulas serve as the starting point for the derivation of a closed system of generalized integral equations for an electromagnetic field in threedimensional space diffracted by an arbitrary interface between two media with different dielectric and magnetic properties. A system of functional Dyson equations is obtained for the first moment of the scattered waves in the case when the rough interface is described by a random Gaussian field. The limiting case of an infinitely small roughness correlation radius is examined. At the limit, the incidentwave energy is shown to be fully converted into the coherent part of the field.
