Natural modes in a coaxialwaveguide resonator
Abstract
The problem of finding the naturalmode spectrum of a coaxialwaveguide resonator (CWR) is formulated rigorously. The uniqueness theorem is proved, and a rigorous mathematical model is developed which describes the spectrum of the natural axisymmetric modes of the resonator. The corresponding algorithm is described, and attention is given to a detailed numerical analysis and classification of the natural modes of the CWR. The relationship between the naturalmode excitation and the scattering characteristics is established.
