Resonant and Non-Resonant Acoustic Properties of Elastic Panels. II. The Transmission Problem
Abstract
An elastic panel is excited by a plane acoustic wave and the transmitted power, averaged over a frequency band and all incidence angles, is calculated. Asymptotic results are given for the problem in two and three dimensions, accounting for both resonance and non-resonance contributions. The predictions are compared with both experimental results and numerical results derived by alternative means, and show considerable improvements on previous theories.
