Subpicosecond tunable synchronously pumped fiber-optic SRS laser
Abstract
A subpicosecond tunable SRS (stimulated Raman scattering) laser has been constructed in which a single-mode glass fiber-optic waveguide serves as the SRS active medium with a broad gain line. Pulses with a duration of 400-500 fs in the spectral tuning range of 1.076-1.12 micron were obtained under synchronous pumping with an actively mode-locked Nd:YAG laser. Lasing and tuning of the SRS laser were also achieved at the higher Stokes components.
