PbS/PbSSe/PbSnSe heterostructure lasers with a quantum well in the active region
Abstract
A quantum well was observed in the ultrafine active region of a PbS/PbSSe/PbSnSe laser. The observed emission lines are due to electron transitions between localized states in potential holes; the Delta n = 0 selection rule holds for these transitions. The quantum well was found to occur at thicknesses Lz not greater than 1000 A.
