Effect of gas flow on the distribution function of dissociating molecules by vibrational levels
Abstract
The effect of nonisothermal convective gas flow on the rate of high-threshold dissociation of a small admixture of diatomic molecules is investigated analytically. It is shown that the asymptotic approximation of the distribution function in the case of slow temperature change in a truncated harmonic oscillator model coincides with the quasi-stationary distribution function in the isothermal state in the case of temperature delay. A method is developed for obtaining a distribution function applicable to both small and large vibrational quantum values.
