Superradiance in a resonator
Abstract
The paper proposes a model of superradiance in a resonator in the pulse-autoextraction mode, achieved by the use of grazing reflection from one of the resonator faces. It is shown that this type of setup makes it possible to increase the intensity substantially and to reduce the pulse duration. The oscillation pulse has the form of a single-mode superradiance pulse as the result of additional discrimination of longitudinal modes in the resonator. For active-medium lengths less than about 1 cm, the pulse duration lies in the picosecond and subpicosecond ranges.
