Model of a sunspot and of a flare above a sunspot.
Abstract
The profiles of Ca II lines H, K, λ8498, λ8542, λ8662 are obtained for two sunspots. The wings of these lines profiles are used for umbra model photosphere calculations and for derivations of the opacity enhancement in the continuum (3900 - 4000 Å). The additional opacity is found to be 2 - 4 times the opacity caused by H- ions. The umbra model chromosphere is calculated on the basis of the central parts of the Ca II lines and the lines Hα, Hβ, Hδ. The flare model chromosphere for two flares, situated above the spots, is also derived.
