Slotted tube cavity - A compact resonator with empty core
Abstract
A compact and lightweight cavity with empty core and quasi-uniform field distribution in the central region is described. In contrast with dielectric-loaded cavities, only metallic losses are present. Thus the quality factor is reasonably high. An efficient and rigorous analysis method, yielding the resonant frequencies and field distribution, is presented. Theoretical results are compared with measurements.
