Modeling and performance analysis of multihop packet radio networks
Abstract
Various techniques used to analyze the performance of packet radio networks are discussed. The modeling of point-to-point wire networks and the characteristics of packet radio networks are reviewed. Packet radio operation, channel signaling, and channel access are examined; consideration is given to access protocols suitable for narrow-band and spread-spectrum systems. Network capacity and throughput-delay characteristics are for single-hop and multihop networks are evaluated using models and simulations; the characteristics of these models and simulations are described.
