Modeling the meridional f0F2 distribution of the low-latitude ionosphere under magnetically quiet conditions
Abstract
Numerical calculations of the latitudinal structure of the low-latitude ionosphere are presented, and calculation results are compared with Alouette-1 satellite sounding data. The investigation makes it possible to reconstruct both the regional features and the fine-structures details of the latitudinal variations of NmF. The importance of adapting multidimensional models of the low-latitude F-region on the basis of satellite and ground observations is emphasized.
