Formation of a layer with a high particle concentration behind a shock wave in a two-phase medium
Abstract
Reference is made to earlier studies in which the formation of a narrow zone of high particle concentration (rho-layer) behind a shock wave in a disperse medium has been discovered and investigated using the self-similarity approximation in the presence of detonation and combustion in a two-phase medium. In the present study, experimental data are presented which provide evidence for the existence of this phenomenon. A comparison is made between the experimental data and numerical results.
