Quadratic effects associated with the scattering of horizontally polarized surface acoustic waves by a rectangular projection
Abstract
Expressions are obtained for quadratic corrections for the parameters of the scattering of horizontally polarized surface acoustic waves by a rectangular projection whose height, h, is small in comparison with the wavelength, lambda. The quadratic corrections are calculated using an iteration procedure based on an exact expression for the surface impedance which allows for the effect of a layered halfspace in the form of a rectangular projection. The corrections contain terms of the order of (h/lambda)squared ln (h/lambda).
