An H2O-maser-radiation burst - Protoplanetary rings
Abstract
Line profiles of the H2O maser radiation burst which occurred in the Orion nebula on December 23, 1983 and February 6, 1984 are analyzed. The high-frequency component is identified and variations of the plane of polarization are revealed. Radio-interferometer observations made it possible to identify several compact components forming a chain oriented at an angle of 80 deg. The high degree of linear polarization observed may be associated with the magnetic field of rings in the same way that it is observed in SiO maser lines.
