The art of N-body building.
Abstract
The author concentrates on techniques for full N-body simulations. The techniques discussed here might apply to the following problems: 1. Internal dynamics of galaxies, including both elliptical and disk systems with or without bulges or halos. 2. Interactions of galaxies with small companions, such as the decay of satellite orbits, formation of shells around elliptical galaxies, and rings in disk galaxies. 3. Interacting galaxies of more nearly equal mass, principally mergers of disk and elliptical systems. 4. Groups of galaxies. 5. Clustering in an expanding universe.
