The -33 < delta < -17 zone : probing SRC J film copies for planetary nebulae.
Abstract
In a search of 72 fields in the delta = -33 to 17 deg zone of the ESO/SRC J Southern Sky Survey, four new planetary nebula candidates of low surface brightness were discovered. Photographs, positions and descriptions are presented. One of the nebulae, exhibiting a peculiar morphology, was observed with a Fabry-Perot interferometer in the H-alpha line and might be interpreted as a thin ring seen edge-on. In all probability, there are dozens of new PN that could still be detected in the J and R fields of the Southern Sky Survey.
