Observation of the HII galaxy giving origin to the Z = 0.3930 absorption system of the QSO 1209+107.
Abstract
Photometric and spectroscopic data show that the absorption system observed at z = 0.3930 in the spectrum of Q1209+107 is due to an intervening H II galaxy. The remarkable similarity to the case of AO 0235+164 suggests that also the absorption system observed at z = 0.524 in the spectrum of this BL Lac object is due to an intervening H II galaxy.
