An adaptive tracking filter in a TWS radar
Abstract
The adaptive combined filter (ACF) presented in this paper possesses the merits of a Kalman filter and an alpha-beta filter. Adaptive tracking can be achieved in two-dimensional space through maneuver detection of the residual sequence. A Kalman filter is used in tracking nonmaneuvering targets because of its higher tracking accuracies. In tracking maneuvering targets, filter gains are directly adjusted through residual monitoring. This filter can be easily realized and very small dynamic time lag is included.
