Analysis of quasi-active microwave PIN diode limiter
Abstract
PIN diode limiters are extensively used to protect sensitive receivers in radar systems. An expression for the resistance of a PIN diode as a function of applied microwave power is derived along with an expression for the power handling capacity of the limiter. It is shown that, using these expressions, the performance of the limiter can be optimized.
