Applications of digital open-loop sidelobe canceller to high-rotation-rate radar
Abstract
Considerations on the design of digital open-loop sidelobe cancellers (SLCs) for high-rotation-rate radar are presented. Adaptive algorithms, compatibility of the ECCM techniques, adaptation rate, beam distortion effects, interchannel mismatch, and orthogonality of the I and Q paths are examined. A single open-loop SLC has been constructed in order to gain insight into the feasibility of digital open-loop SLCs; and experimental results are presented which demonstrate the validity of the theoretical considerations.
