Direct evaluation of radar detection performance by calculating residue
Abstract
A procedure for directly evaluating radar detection performance from the characteristic function by calculating residue is presented and is applied to Swerling's fluctuating target models. The exact formulas for computing the detection performances are given for both fixed-threshold and cell-average CFAR detections in terms of a finite sum without any special function.
