Squeezing in the degenerate parametric oscillator using the positive P-representation
Abstract
The degenerate parametric oscillator is modeled by a set of stochastic differential equations in eight dimensions derived using the positive P-representation. Steady-state solutions to the deterministic equations derived by neglecting the quantum noise terms are obtained and used as the basis for a linearized treatment of quantum fluctuations. The numerical results highlight the possible use of the degenerate parametric oscillator for the generation of squeezed light.
